The IXP project is to keep in local internet communication local. It aims at building the technical capacity of the beneficiary country in managing Internet Exchange Point and to provide, when necessary, equipment needed for the establishment of the Internet exchange point.
Description

<p>The AXIS Project aims to facilitate the development of an African internet infrastructure through policy and regulatory reform, capacity building and technical assistance. Development of an African internet infrastructure refers to the establishment of regional internet exchange points (IXPs) and internet carriers.</p>

<p>The AXIS Project aims to facilitate the development of an African internet infrastructure through policy and regulatory reform, capacity building and technical assistance. Development of an African internet infrastructure refers to the establishment of regional internet exchange points (IXPs) and internet carriers.</p>

<p>The AXIS Project is being implemented through two phases. Phase I consists of capacity building to support the establishment of national IXPs through providing a series of two workshops for stakeholders and the Internet Service Provider Association (ISPA) on  I) best practice and benefits of IXP and II) technical assistance through workshops which will cover the technical and administrative skills needed to set up, operate, and administer an IXP.</p>

<p>Phase II focuses on supporting establishment of Regional IXP and Regional Internet Carrier through provisioning Capacity building workshops on best practice and benefits of setting up RIXP/IC and providing technical assistance.</p>

<p>The AXIS Project is a flagship project of the African Regional Action Plan on Knowledge Economy (ARAPKE) endorsed by the African Union Executive Council.</p>

Description

<p>Le Plan Directeur de la CEDEAO pour le Développement des Moyens Régionaux de Production et de Transport d’Energie Electrique 2019-2033, adopté par l"’Autorité des Chefs d’Etat et de Gouvernement de la CEDEAO en 2018, A  travers l"’Acte Additionnel Act A/SA.4/12/18, a identifié les projets prioritaires clés dont la mise en Å“uvre est indispensable A  une intégration stable des réseaux électriques nationaux dans l"’espace CEDEAO et, faciliter des échanges optimaux et de commercialisation d’énergie électrique entre les Etats membres. Parmi les projets prioritaires inscrits dans ce Plan Directeur figure le projet de centrale Hydroélectrique de Louga 1 et 2.</p><p>Les composantes du projet sont les suivantes :</p><p>LOUGA 1</p><ul><li>Aménagement de la retenue d’eau de 55m avec un réservoir d’environ 297,6 millions de m3 ;</li><li>Construction d’un barrage de 1683 m de long et 30m de haut ;</li><li>Installation de 3 groupes de type bulbe totalisant une capacité installée de 126 MW, et une production annuelle estimée A  646 GWh ;</li><li>Construction de l"’évacuateur de crue ;</li><li>Construction du canal de fuite.</li></ul>LOUGA 2 <br><ul><li>Aménagement de la retenue d’eau de 30m avec un réservoir d’environ 237 millions de m3 ;</li><li>Construction d’un barrage de 1107 m de long et 33m de haut ;</li><li>Installation de 3 groupes de type bulbe totalisant une capacité installée de 120 MW, et une production annuelle estimée A  600 GWh ;</li><li>Construction de l"’évacuateur de crue ;</li><li>Construction du canal de fuite.</li></ul>L"’évacuation de l"’énergie des projets d’aménagements hydroélectriques de Louga 1 et 2 se fera A  partir du réseau 225 kV, avec la création d’un poste 225 kV sur l"’une des lignes 225 kV Soubré-San Pedro. Une liaison San Pedro-Louga-Abidjan pourra être réalisée en 400 kV. Les études d’avant-projet détaillé permettront de retenir la solution d’évacuation définitive.<br>
