Description

<p>This Casablanca-Algiers-Tunis railway link covers a total of 2,350 km. Significant economic benefits derived from the project study include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Reduction in travel time for the entire population, and particularly for economic operators in all sectors of activity.</li>
<li>Reduction in transport costs.</li>
<li>Reduction in road maintenance costs.</li>
<li>Reduction in road accidents.</li>
<li>Reduction in pollutant emissions.</li>
</ul>

<p>The NWAS is one of the major North African transboundary groundwater basins shared by three North African countries (i.e.  i.e. Algeria, Libya, and Tunisia) which covers an area of more than one million square kilometres. The NWSAS can be categorised as a multi-layered system of aquifers which embodies a huge stock of non-renewable groundwater. </p>
