Description

<p>Deployment and implementation of a broadband connectivity link between Kinshasa and Lusaka through the link Muanda-Kinshasa then Kinshasa-Kasumbalesa, afterwards establishes a cross boarder connection operated by Zamtel in Zambia and la Société Congolaise des Postes et des Télécommunications (SCPT) in DRC.</p>

Summary
The project is about establishing a link the 2 subregional and neighbouring countries DRC and Angola with a broadband connectivity by Fibre Optic, with the main objective of providing connectivity to the south west and central cities of DRC (Kananga, Mbuji-Mayi, Bandundu, Kikwit, Matadi,..) by linking at the first stage Cabinda (ANG) and Muanda (DRC) and on the second stage Noqui (ANG) and Matadi (DRC). The second objective of the project is to provide a redundancy (back up) to the existing national backbone in case of failures and service disrupt on the two primaries axes Kinshasa Muanda and Kinshasa Kasumbalesa (Lubumbashi).
Description

<p>Project will be executed and operated by the two countries national FO telecom companies : SCPT (DRC) and Angola Cables (ANG). A joint planning meeting was held in Kinshasa in 2017. Financing partners are now being approached.</p>

Kinshasa (DRC) will be linked to the eastern countries (Rwanda and Burundi) through the national backbone Kinshsa - Kasumbalesa (Lubumbashi) by estashing a joinction from Kamina to Burundi through Uvira in DRC and to Rwanda through Goma in DRC.

<p>Construction of DRC section of the fibre optic link between Kinshasa (DRC) and Kigali/Bujumbura (Rwanda/Burundi).</p>

<p>EDIT : This project involves the roll out of a fiber optic backbone linked to regional network to improve quality and<br />
reduce costs of communications services. The project links the DRC to Rwanda and Burundi and to the<br />
East African countries networks and will offer redundancy loops for these networks with DRC and the<br />
countries in the region.</p>
