The 330 kV Ghana - Togo - Benin Interconnection Project is part of the WAPP Coastal Transmission Backbone which aims at establishing a robust interconnection link and corridor for power exchanges among Ghana, CA´te d"™Ivoire, Benin/Togo and Nigeria. The project involves the construction of approximately 350 km of 330 kV transmission line from Tema Swithching Station in Ghana (Volta) over a distance of 140 km to the Ghana /Togo Border (Lome "C") and 98 km of 330 kV line from Lome "C" to the Togo/Benin Border and from there an 110 km 330 kV line to the Sakete Substation in Benin. It also comprises the extension of the 330 kV switching substation in Tema, Ghana, construction of 330/161/20 kV substation in Lome "C", Togo and the extension of the 330 kV substation at Sakete in Benin.

The 330 kV CA´te d"™Ivoire - Ghana Interconnection Reinforcement Project is part of the WAPP Coastal Transmission Backbone which aims at establishing a robust interconnection link and corridor for power exchanges among CA´te d"™Ivoire, Ghana, Benin/Togo and Nigeria. The national power grids of Ghana and CA´te d"™Ivoire have been interconnected by a 225 kV line since 1983. This line which has been used to stabilize power supply between the two countries is nearing saturation and there is need for a new line parallel to the existing one in order to satisfy the increasing demand for power exchange between CA´te d"™Ivoire and Ghana. The proposed 330 kV line is approximately 300 km long (177 km in CA´te d"™Ivoire and 119 in Ghana) and involves the construction of a transmission line, construction of a new substation at Akoupe-Zeudji in the North East of Abidjan in CA´te d"™Ivoire and the construction of a new substation '"™Dunkwa"™"™ 2 at Dunkwa-on-Offin in Ghana.
