Description

<p>The project comprise of the following: (1) complete or initiate dredging of port of Kigoma to restore design depths of generally around 6 m on approach to, in anchorage and along Berths; (2) establish a watercourse management system to minimize soil erosion and sedimentation at ports; and (3) rehabilitating or establishing of areas and ramps to accommodate vehicles (in particular MAFI trailers and forklifts) involved with RoRo operations at ports.</p>

<p>The IXP project is to keep in localinternet communication local. It aimsat building the technical capacity ofthe beneficiary country in managingInternet Exchange Point and toprovide, when necessary, equipmentneeded for the establishment of theInternet exchange point.</p>
Description

<p>The AXIS Project aims to facilitate the development of an African internet infrastructure through policy and regulatory reform, capacity building and technical assistance. Development of an African internet infrastructure refers to the establishment of regional internet exchange points (IXPs) and internet carriers.</p>
<p>The AXIS Project is being implemented through two phases. Phase I consists of capacity building to support the establishment of national IXPs through providing a series of two workshops for stakeholders and the Internet Service Provider Association (ISPA) on&Acirc; I) best practice and benefits of IXP and II) technical assistance through workshops which will cover the technical and administrative skills needed to set up, operate, and administer an IXP.</p>
<p>The AXIS Project aims to facilitate the development of an Africaninternet infrastructure throughpolicy and regulatory reform,capacity building and technicalassistance. Bugarama-Kayanza road is in a superficial coated belayer last rehabilitation which took place in 1992. Tread has 6 m wide with 1.25 m on each side for the shoulders. It is a stretch of the northern corridor linking Burundi to other countries of the East African Community via Rwanda and Uganda. The Bugarama-Kayanza stretch currently receives almost all the traffic of the central corridor and the northern corridor.

<p>The Kayanza- Bugarama road is about 59 km on the RN1. It originates from Bugarama and terminates in Kayanza City. This road forms part of the trade route with Rwanda.</p>
